How Data Works

Statbate collects real-time data from six webcam platforms using dedicated collector services that connect to each platform's chat and event systems.

For how Statbate handles trust, corrections, and public communication while remaining anonymous by design, see Project Transparency.

For page-level usage and citation rules that apply to Statbate dataset pages and structured data, see Data License.

Architecture

Cam Platforms → WebSocket Collectors → ClickHouse Database → Statbate Websites
  1. Collectors connect to platform WebSocket/chat APIs
  2. Tips, messages, and events are captured in real-time
  3. Data is stored in ClickHouse (a high-performance analytics database)
  4. Both statbate.com and plus.statbate.com query this database

What Gets Stored

Every piece of collected data is stored permanently. Statbate never deletes historical data — the entire dataset from the start of collection is always available.

Per Platform

Each platform has a dedicated collector service written in Go, optimized for that platform's specific API and data format. Collectors run continuously, maintaining persistent connections to thousands of rooms simultaneously.

Data Types

See What We Collect for a detailed breakdown of every data type per platform.

Support and Corrections

If you notice a tracking gap, an outdated explanation, or a documentation error, contact Statbate at:

Include the model name, platform, approximate time window, and what looks wrong. That gives the team enough context to verify whether the issue was a collector gap, a product limitation, or a docs problem.
